Information for OICs

There are mainly two sections in the Advocate General office for the purpose of managing and handling cases in Advocate General's Office:-

(I) Writ / Civil

  1. Notice received in concerned Government department.

  2. Appointment of officer-in-charge by the department.

  3. Officer-in-charge to contact law officer (Government Counsel) of respective department.

  4. If AG/AAG is appointed by law department, then officer-in-charge shall contact AG/AAG.

  5. Officer-in-charge shall submit the file of case along with factual report of the case to AG/AAG/Government Counsel concern. He will also submit information about the case in prescribed Performa. Office-in-charge will get the Vakalatnama filed and will get the reply prepared from the AG/AAG/Government Counsel Concern.

  6. OIC will be in regular touch with concerned counsel and provide requisite information as asked for, by the concerned counsel.

(II) Criminal

Investigating Officer (IO) concern will contact the office of Government Advocate and will be in regular touch with concerned counsel and provide requisite information as asked for, by the Government Advocate concern.

IO shall also make case dairy available to Government advocate as and well required by him.
